Blue Star continues to support the industry through its association with EHPA as a Gold Sponsor.

Leading global HVAC manufacturer Blue Star is once again supporting the European Heat Pump Association Forum as a Gold Sponsor for the 2025 event.

The Forum gathers heat pump industry leaders, innovators and policymakers to explore how the technology can deliver solutions at scale for critical challenges such as cutting fossil fuel dependence, driving growth and creating skilled jobs. Representatives of the European Commission will also be speaking.

This year’s EHPA Forum theme is ‘Securing Europe’s energy future’ which aligns with Blue Star’s focus on supporting Europe’s HVAC manufacturers to develop innovative low-carbon and energy efficient heating technologies.

The 2025 EHPA forum, which takes place in Brussels on the 23rd and 24th September, is putting the spotlight on the strategic role of electrification and clean heating in helping Europe achieve its climate goals and energy security. These are central to building a resilient and competitive energy system for Europe.

Alex Bagnall, Blue Star Europe Business Development Manager, says: “We support the vital work of the EHPA as it helps to guide the industry at this important time. One of the key questions that the 2025 Forum will address is how heat pump deployment can be scaled up across Europe. Manufacturers will play a key part in achieving that goal, and well-designed heat pump solutions will be an important element of successful sector growth.”

Blue Star’s unique Custom Design and Manufacturing (CDM) service supports manufacturers by reducing the risk in new product development.

Jason Tinsley, Vice President of Sales for Blue Star Europe, says: “Blue Star works with manufacturers to research, develop and deliver innovative technologies. We can de-risk product development with our custom design approach. This reduces the time it takes to get from drawing board to production line.

By partnering with us, manufacturers can respond quickly to market opportunities, like those being highlighted at this year’s Conference,” he says.

One of the other issues the EHPA Forum 2025 will address is training for installers. As the EHPA notes: “We must ensure that installers are equipped with the skills to correctly and easily install heat pumps.”

Alex Bagnall has been pursuing this important area in his work with the SKILLSAFE EU project. It aims to develop a unified framework for the safe handling of R290-based heat pumps.

“With R290 refrigerant now becoming more common in heat pump systems, it’s even more important for the EU and the UK to ensure that we have the right training in place for installers. It’s only by working together that manufacturers can ensure their products are handled safely and installed for optimum performance,” says Mr. Bagnall.

The application of low-GWP refrigerants in heat pump systems is becoming increasingly important in the sector. Tom Overs, CEO International Business Group at Blue Star says: “Manufacturers must match these demands with market-ready products. Blue Star has a strong heritage in working with our clients to develop tailored products that meet today’s environmental standards, wherever they’re used in the world.”

The Blue Star team will be at the EHPA Forum in Brussels, so if you would like to chat about CDM and product development stop by to meet with us. For more information on the event, and to register, see: https://www.ehpa.org/all-events/heat-pump-forum-award-2025/
